Most trivia games ask the same questions everyone's already heard. We wanted a game that asks about you instead.
The idea started at an actual game night. Every trivia app in the room had the same problem: a fixed question bank. Play it twice with the same group and someone remembers the answer before the timer even starts. The "In what year did World War II end?" energy gets old fast, and the games built to fix it usually solve it by just having more pre-written questions — which delays the problem, it doesn't remove it.
Wedgie Trivia generates its questions live with AI instead of pulling from a fixed bank, so the same lobby can play ten games in a row and never see a repeat. You can also steer it — rename a category to a theme your group actually cares about ("90s movies," "our fantasy football league," whatever it is) and the questions get built around that instead of generic trivia.
The feature we're proudest of is personal questions. Fill out a short profile — favorite movie, hometown, go-to order, things like that — and the game can build real multiple-choice questions out of it:
"What's Sarah's favorite fast food spot?"
That's the moment the game stops being generic trivia and turns into something only your group could play. It's opt-in, it's private to your lobby, and it tends to be the part people actually remember afterward — not who won, but who didn't know their best friend's own answer.
Wedgie Trivia is free to play — hosting, joining, and every game mode. It works in a browser on any device, no install required, and you can put it on a TV for the whole room to see while everyone answers from their own phone. Playing as a guest takes about ten seconds: pick a name and go.
We're still building. New game modes, more ways to customize a lobby, and continued work on question variety are all active — the goal is a game you can genuinely keep coming back to, not one you burn through in a weekend.
